It was with great excitement that this past weekend I flew to meet Bill in Hartford! Between storms and delayed flights it was a long day getting there but worth every second. Our plans for the weekend involved going on a day trip to Boston on Sunday, but the rest of the weekend was ours to enjoy!
In classic Bill fashion, our Chief Adventure Finder had already thought out a plan for Friday which involved a little day trip to both Kent and Cornwall, CT. and a few other surprises along the way! ...by surprises I do specifically mean Chocolate 😜 With a high of 100+ degrees we set out to enjoy some beautiful sights!
Our first stop was at Truffles, it's become a local favorite of ours. it's quaint, they make beautiful and delicious treats and have good coffee...not to mention on a hot day it's always refreshingly cool inside! This was the perfect way to stat our day-venture!
ICED COFFEE - Check!
CHOCOLATE COCONUT BAR - Check!
We made our way to an old covered bridge in Cornwall which was along a gorgeous river! (See blog cover) and then strolled through the little town checking out some high-end art and some adorable homes! It was incredibly peaceful walking along the river and my gratitude for quiet time with Bill was off the charts!
Sunday we made our way to Boston so I could meet a friend of Bill's and also to check out some of the city! Starting our day in Beacon Hill was amazing! I felt like we were already in Europe with the cobblestone streets and incredibly old little houses. It was also fun because we had the camera and were able to take some interesting photos! I could've spent all day here admiring everything from the window boxes full of flowers to the old wrought iron gates.
Lunch was at a delicious vegetarian/vegan place and full of laughter and great story sharing. Afterwards we went to walk the quiet Harvard campus and then made our way back to Hartford!
As we rode home I was reflecting on not only this weekend but so many others we have spent exploring. We ALWAYS manage to find beauty, peace, uniqueness, nature and moments to connect not only with each other but ourselves. To remember that you don't have go far to find adventure. It's always a matter of mindset, willingness to let go of an expectation for what you SHOULD see and let the world show you what you CAN see. Bill and I have been going on day-trips for 6 months now and I have some of the most meaningful memories from each of these trips, all because I was open to whatever the world could show me and what we could share together!!
I want to finish this post with my favorite photo from the weekend!!!

DREAMS - JOY - LOVE - ADVENTURE - INSPIRATION - HOPE - FUN - LIFE.... It's all "CLOSER" than it may appear, you just have to be willing to let it happen, and think positive!
